Originally a subsidiary of Mongarlowe Gourmet, it proved highly successful in achieving its goals, and grew large enough to be incorporated as a stand alone organisation and registered charity in early 2020.
We are very grateful to our amazing team of regulars and volunteers who are committed to helping us with this mission. A special thanks also goes to Tim Gearing and Mongarlowe Gourmet, who continue to support the project both financially and operationally.
And of course, as a not-for-profit organisation, none of this could happen without our amazing donors and supporting community organisations.

Our projects are based on ongoing research into the needs of the most vulnerable in our community, with a focus on activities that offer the greatest economic, social and health (including mental health) benefits.
We currently have two high-impact projects:
1) Making A Difference, One Coffee At A Time.
We offer the opportunity for people to meet in a safe, non-judgmental environment at a weekly free coffee and cake/meal meeting.
This pilot project has shown a high success rate and is being expanded into a charity focused community coffee hub.
2) Creating Futures - Renewable Food Project
Helping people connect, gain confidence, and develop an independent income by growing food or native plants.
The focus is on groups who fit one or more of the below criteria;
1) Low socio economics
2) Feeling isolated
3) Subject to depression
This project is currently in development stage, with hopes of starting the pilot in early 2021.

Thanks to some generous sponsors and donors, we are on our way to expanding this valuable community service and becoming a fully dedicated premise encompassing all associated equipment, and offering the additional benefit of employment and training to youth with disability and from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals.
